Transitions- are light weight plastic photochromatic lenses that protect your
eyes from harmful ultra-violet (UV) rays from the sun. Light hitting the
Transitions Lenses makes it turn darker. When there is more light they change
faster. Therefore, at high noon, Transitions may darken a little quicker.
In early morning or late afternoon, darkening may take longer. Inside a
car transitions do not get as dark as they do outside on a bright sunny day.
That is because your windshield is already blocking some of the light that
make transitions darken. If you need a darker lense for driving you may
prefer a second pair of sunglasses. Transitions are available in most
prescriptions, including bifocals, trifocal progressive (no-line) and
multifocal lenses.
A progressive lens gives you instant focus everywhere you look, near, far,
and everywhere in between. Cosmetically they are appealing and comfortable.
They provide the ultimate solution to presbyopia, the natural hardening of
the eye's crystalline lens, which reduces its ability to change shape and
focus. Some people learn to wear Varilux lenses immediately and others take
a bit longer. To get the most out of your lenses, stop wearing your old
glasses right away, keep your glasses high on the bridge of your nose, turn
your head toward the object that you want to see and then move your head
vertically until the object is in focus. Once your eyes adjust, you'll
wonder how you ever managed without these lenses.
